Another year, another plea for public support of the arts. In it’s 50th year, the city art museum wanted updating. 

Rather than plaintive cries of social obligations, let’s use the day to appeal to the heart of the matter. Simply. Compellingly. Appropriately to the month of February.

Added challenge – it has to be produced on the inhouse copier.

I will get around to a post on my understanding of aesthetics. But for now, let’s just say that the arts demand our admiration. And admiration intensified is what mere mortals call “love”.

Throughout, the mailed package is a valentine – a love letter to the arts. This became an appeal to give back to a living source of joy and inspiration. To my surprise I actually got to romp a bit with the copy and even say that “the seductive old girl needs a little love.”
